Sports Foam Filters for Motorcycles
Throttle Punkssports foam (polyurethane) filters are designed for motorcycles that are actually ridden —not for showpieces in the garage. For specific models of CFMOTO, Yamaha Ténéré, Aprilia Tuareg, and other motorcycles, we manufacture foam filters with up to three layers that can handle dust, sand, mud, water, and extreme conditions where standard filters quickly fail.

A foam filter works differently than a paper or cotton filter. It’s not just about airflow, but mainly about the ability to trap fine contaminants while providing long-term protection for the engine. That’s exactly why foam filters are the standard in motocross, enduro, and off-road racing.
Why choose a Throttle Punks foam filter?
- Excellent filtration of fine dust, sand, and mud
- Two-layer / three-layer structure = better engine protection
- Resistance to water and extreme clogging
- Consistent performance even in brutal conditions
- Easy maintenance and long service life
Throttle Punks filters aren’t disposable. Just wash them in warm water, re-oil them with foam filter oil, and you’re good to go. Operating costs are thus significantly lower than with paper or cotton filters.
Foam Filter vs. Paper or Cotton Filter
Paper (factory) filters
- clog quickly with dust
- lose their filtering ability once dirty
- are usually discarded = higher costs
Cotton filters (OEM / sports)
- better airflow, but poorer filtration of fine particles
- more sensitive to water and mud
- Less suitable for off-road conditions
Throttle Punks foam filters
- filter fine contaminants significantly better
- work even in wet, muddy, and extreme conditions
- ideal for enduro, motocross, adventure, and rally use
- compatible with sport intake systems
Maintenance and Use in Extreme Conditions
In extreme conditions, you’ll need to clean or replace the foam filter more often —and that’s perfectly fine. Motocross racers routinely replace their filters after every race because protecting the engine is always a priority. A foam filter lets you handle this maintenance quickly, affordably, and stress-free.
